Carer and Needy Carer Support Service

Our aim
Carer Support Service aims at supporting carers to take care of their older family members in the community so as to enhance well-being of carers and the elderly.

We serve
  • Family members, relatives or friends who taking care of an older adults living in the community.
  • Either the older adult or the carer live in Sham Shui Po.
  • Needy carers are those carers who taking care of frail elders with heavy burden, or in need of social and emotional support (social work assessment is needed).

Our Services
  • Skill-training
  • Support groups and recreational activities
  • Carer resource and rental of rehab-aid (e.g. wheelchair)
  • Service referral
  • Consultation and counselling service

(On top of that, home visits, escorting, center-based day respite and public education are provided to needy carer services.)



How to join us?
  • Complete and return application form by email, fax, post or in person
  • Refer from other social service unit

How to withdraw from our service?

  • Service users could apply withdrawal by their own decision. On the other hand, social workers could also terminate the service upon professional judgment. (If needy carer has ceased service for half year, membership will be terminated automatically.)
